FREQUENTLY  ASKED  QUESTIONS

Here are some answers to questions we know are probably on your mind. Have a question that isn’t listed here? Feel free to give us a call or shoot us an email — we’d love to chat about it!

  • No, in an effort to better assist you and customize your booking experience, we do not offer online booking at this time. However, you may fill out our appointment request form and our guest relations team will be happy to correspond with you via phone or email to discuss your options for scheduling. You are also welcome to call us at 619-284-1687.

  • Our stylists are placed at levels to reflect their skillset and experience in the industry. Those at lower levels are continuing to build their skillset and clientele through advancements in on-going professional education. Those placed at higher levels have a more refined or advanced skillset.

During booking, our guest relations team takes pride in matching you with the best fit stylist in relation to your hair type and history, goals for your service, and any budgeting or other needs.

As a general rule, for more “simple” or straightforward services, our expertly-trained lower- or mid-level stylists are trusted to provide excellent quality work. For those with more specific needs or challenges regarding their hair, we recommend booking with a higher-level stylist, as they typically have the skillset required to navigate such services.

  • Both our South Park and Bankers Hill locations have street parking only. We advise that you arrive a few minutes ahead of your scheduled appointment to allow yourself enough time to find parking.

Additional parking in both locations can be found on the surrounding streets. Note that most parking in Bankers Hill is metered parking, but there is free parking on Sixth Avenue near Balboa Park.

  • We require at least 24 hours notice to cancel any standard appointment without a deposit attached.

For larger appointments with a deposit attached, we require more than 7 days notice to cancel or reschedule.

Read more about our cancellation policy here.

  • We understand that late arrivals happen due to various circumstances. For most services, we have a standard grace period of 15 minutes from the start of your scheduled appointment time.

For express services with shortened durations, such as bangs/neck trims or consultations, we have very little wiggle room for late arrivals. For that reason, our express services have a grace period of 5 minutes from the start of your scheduled appointment time.

Please be aware that excessive tardiness beyond the grace period may result in your appointment needing to be rescheduled, and a cancellation penalty being applied.

  • We generally require service deposits for large services that are $300 or over in total cost. The deposit is required at the time of booking, and the amount is 50% of the total cost of the entire service. For your convenience, we can safely process your deposit over the phone when booking.

  • No, we do not require a credit card on file in order to schedule. You do have the option of asking us to store your card on file for your convenience.

In rare instances where a client has an excessive history of missed appointments due to late cancellations or no-shows, we do require pre-payment for services ahead of booking.

  • We do sell physical gift certificates, which you can purchase by visiting either of our locations. You may also purchase a gift certificate over the phone.

  • Specialty services are those that only select stylists offer, and generally require a consultation ahead of booking. These services include perms, hair extensions, color corrections, bleach & tones, vivid or creative colors, Cezanne smoothing treatments, and formal styling.

  • Yes, all standard services include a wash and round-brush blowout or natural-hair diffuse. Additional iron work (curling or flat ironing) is available at an extra cost.

Our express bang trims and neck trims do not include washing and styling. We kindly ask that you arrive to your appointment with clean and dry hair.

  • Though our services include a wash and style, we recommend arriving to your appointment with clean and dry hair in order to achieve the best results (especially for color services).

We consider relatively clean hair to be hair that has been washed within the past two days, and is free from excessive product or oil. Hair that is slightly dirty is usually okay, as well as hair with light product.

Hair that is excessively dirty, or contains excessive product, salt water, chlorine (pool) water, or hair oils should be washed and dried ahead of your appointment.

Please note that any root-cover powder or spray left in your hair ahead of your appointment may jeopardize the ability of the artificial color to penetrate your hair, and therefore may result in those areas not covering properly. We kindly ask that you wash out any root-cover products ahead of your appointment.
